Chindi Varadarajulu

L'attitude 49

India

Chindi has a passion for food and adventure. Born in Singapore, Chindi moved to Vancouver in the early 90s, where she opened Chutney Villa, a ground-breaking South Indian restaurant, in 2003.

A dedicated restaurateur and Chef, she led her restaurant in receiving many awards, and also garnered positive media attention, including a review in The New York Times.

Combining her passion for food and her culture, she ventured a step further by leading culinary tours to South India. That opened up a whole new world for her in opportunities so, in 2011, Chindi decided to sell her beloved restaurant in Vancouver and head to India for her next adventure. She joined forces with the Mamalla Group of Hotels to create L’attitude 49, a unique destination restaurant within the Grande Bay Resort and Spa.

Being right on the coast yet again (after Singapore and Vancouver) gives Chindi the delightful opportunity of working with myriad seafood options. With local fishermen bringing their fresh catch to her doors daily, she pours her passion and creativity into deftly creating food that has titillated many palates.
